ANTICA DEGUSTAZIONE
A CAFÉ WITH AN ANTIQUE FLAVOUR
It was 1954, during a period of reconstruction, when Natale Bianchin decided to open the Antica Degustazione, the first non-alcoholic coffee bar in Montebelluna.
At the time, it was men who frequented local businesses and the taste of real coffee had been forgotten in the difficult, grey years of the war.
It was at this point that Natale used his savings to offer his fellow citizens something different: he began making coffeewith a small coal-fired roasting machine installed in the back of the bar.
The heart of Montebelluna then became imprinted with aromas and scents, awakening perceptions and memories of everyday life. A lure for passers-by and especially for ladies, intent on reproducing that emotion at home with their moka pot.
Soon the Antica Degustazione became a reference point for women, a place for meeting and chatting, for freedom and leisure. An early beginning of emancipation and sociability in a welcoming atmosphere.
Through the opening of the small workshop under his house in the 1960s, Natale was recognised for his expertise in roasting. He sold coffee mainly to local businesses, while his wife Luisa ran the bar.
To this day, the Antica Degustazione represents a café with an antique flavour, a historic and elegant ambience in which the customer is welcomed by a qualified and polite staff.
Always elated by the aroma of freshly roasted coffee, you can find a wide selection of sweets, teas and infusions as well as hot chocolate with cream prepared according to the traditional Natale Bianchin recipe. Naturally generous is the offer of single-origin coffees and compounded blends to be tasted at the counter or with the family.
